SWISSPOWER CUP 4
Mary McConneloug continued her incredible march through Europe, winning her 10th race from 13 UCI Category mountain bike events this season. The Swisspower Cup #4 was an E2 race that awarded 20 UCI points to its winner. McConneloug will lose her score from the Swisspower Cup #4 last year and net 13 UCI points, in addition to the 10 she earned after winning the European Cup #1 in Belgium.

FLEMISH ARDENNES TROPHY
Susan Haywood is back in the points race by securing second place in the E1 rated Flemish Ardennes Trophy, Belgium.
Laurence LeBoucher, French World Cyclocross Champion. Haywood is closing in on the gap by adding 35 points to her 810 points after winning the Pan American Championships. By the end of the World Cup season, McConneloug and Haywood may be almost even in UCI points.

All points earned by a rider should be included in the world rankings. These rankings directly impact individual starting positions, nation rankings and overall ranking.
Olympic start spots The U.S.A. Cycling Federation should use all points earned by riders to determine Olympic start spots in accordance with the UCI rules.
Selection criteria based upon the UCI points system

UCI is still not resolved, but it should be by July 12th. The revision to POJ12 added 15 points to Haywoods score to give her a third-place finish, and 11 to Shonny Vandandinghams to give her a fifth-place finish. McConneloug was also awarded points, but she has since replaced her score so her total is unchanged.

The POJ12 ranking system doesn’t take into consideration incorrect event dates or omissions by the UCI of complete event results. POJ12 does not take into account
USAC rules interpretations and legal considerations are taken into account. POJ12 doesn’t take into consideration biased journalism or misinformed rules interpretations by whiny resident experts who believe simple addition and subtract is college-level calculus.

Next weekend, UCI points racing action will be at home in Sonoma (CA) with an E1 cross country and E2 short track and the usual points smorgasbord throughout Europe, including the E1 Olympic Test Event in Athens, Greece.
