What Size Is A Split King Bed?
Split kings are actually two twin XL mattresses placed together on a king-size bed frame. Twin XL and king beds measure 203 cm in length, while twin XL and king mattresses are 203 cm respectively. Double beds are half the width of king mattresses.
You can make a 193 cm king-sized mattress by taking two twin XL mattresses measuring 97 cm in width, joining them together with a bit of math magic. This one is quite smart, wouldn’t you agree?

Is Splitking Right For Everyone?
It’s unlikely. This is only something we recommend for couples. You probably won’t need a larger mattress than a king if you are single. However, if you do require a larger mattress, it will be annoying to have your bed cut down in the middle.
A split king may not be necessary for couples who have a similar body type, sleeping style, or mattress preference.
You might want one large king-sized mattress if you are likely to both like the same mattress. You will pay a little more for this bed than if you buy one king-size mattress.

First, if you are looking to move soon or often, consider going the split king route.
Why? Because twin XL-sized mattresses are much easier to move than a king size mattress.

What kind of bedding should I use for the Split King Bed
There are several options for bedding for a split-king. You can either use a standard king mattress, or two XL twins, or both.
Sheets
There are special sheet sets that can be used for split-king beds with flexible bases. Split-top sheets for kings are matched sheets the same size as a king sheet, and are attached at the tail of the sheet-like any other king sheet.
These sheets can be split on the head side into twin-sized sheets so that the adjustable bed frame can move smoothly from one side to the other.
These sheets can be shaped to look like the letter U. They are attached at the base and then divided into two sides.
It might not be easy to find sheets like these, so you can also choose two twin XL fitted sheet sets that will achieve the same goal for your adjustable beds.
If you don’t have an adjustable bed frame for your split king, you can use twin XL sheets to cover each mattress, or cover them both with a standard king-size sheet set. This will give the mattresses a more cohesive feel.
Comforters
A few people may choose to use different comforters and top sheets for their beds. Others will prefer to use a set of king-sized blankets that makes the mattresses more cohesive. It is up to you to decide.
You might consider switching blankets if you are certain that your spouse is a constant blanket stealer. However, some people might find it difficult to feel close to their partner or snuggle under different blankets.
